On Monday night, we celebrated Evan's birthday with Adam's side of the family. This time, I had time to make a cake myself. I had a cherry chip cake mix. I put it in two round pans and then stacked them. In between layers, I put a layer of cream cheese frosting and a layer of raspberry jam. I covered the rest of the cake with cream cheese frosting and I decorated the edges. I did a mighty fine job if I can say so myself! Evan loved this cake too. He was upset when we took the plate away again. Grandma and Grandpa Ross rescued him with a present as well. They got him some super cute books. I think I had more fun looking at them than Evan did. Hee hee! It was another fun night.

Park City
On Saturday, my friend and I went to Park City for the night. This is the friend that is going through the divorce. I wanted her to have a little get-away to get her mind off of the things that are going on. We left early in the morning to go to the Tanger Outlet Mall. She wanted to find an outfit for her court hearing on Wednesday. We found her a super cute skirt and even found some good clearance items for our boys! We were shopping from 9 AM to about 3:30 in the afternoon. After that, we checked into our hotel; The Westgate Resort and Spa. The hotel was HUGE and really beautiful. Our room was pretty impressive too! It came with a kitchen that was fully stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. We had a king size bed that was extremely comfortable. It was like I was in high school all over again and I was having a sleep over with my best friend. That night, we went to a restaurant that was in the hotel. After dinner, we went back to our room and stayed up for hours just talking. I miss having sleep overs! We are planning many more trips in the future! :) Sunday morning was uneventful. We just checked out, had breakfast and went home. Thanks friend for an awesome time! I had a BLAST!!! :) Here's to more adventures together.

A move, a new job, a break up, a divorce and abuse....
First, A move: I have been moved back to the Farmington office for work now. I missed everyone here, but the drive and the gas is going to kill me. :( Not only do I have a long way to drive, I now have to work on Fridays. That's a full tank of gas a week! YIKES!!!! :S I AM glad to be back though. I had a great first week back last week and this week is shaping up to be pretty good as well. It's so fun to see everyone again and catch up on things.
Second: A New Job: Before I had Logan, I sold Pampered Chef for about a month. Hee hee! Well, I have picked up selling Pampered Chef again. We need the extra income and this is a good way to get it that won't take up all my time. I had my first show on the 11th and it went really well! I am looking for more people to book parties, so if anyone knows anybody or even if YOU want to host a party, please let me know. I am needing to fill up my calendar for September.
Third: A break up: August 17th marked the day that my sister-in-law was supposed to get married... Well, that didn't happen. Her fiance broke things off with her a month before the wedding and told her "he was getting more and more unsure" of the two of them. It's been a rough month for her, but it will be good in the long run. He was emotionally abusive and I'm so glad she got away from that before they were married. She is such a special girl and I love her so much. I am so protective of her. She's like the little sister I never had. He didn't deserve her. She will find the love of her life soon enough and she will realize she is much happier.
Fourth: A Divorce: One of my best friends is filing for divorce. It makes me so happy that she has taken this step! Her husband was sexually and emotionally abusive to her and what made it worse, is he was even abusive to their (almost) 1 year old son. It broke my heart whenever she would tell me things that he did. He wouldn't let her out of the house on weekends, he didn't want her seeing her family, he didn't want her talking to her own brother anymore! She had tried so hard to make things better. She went to a counselor and tried to get him to go with her. He refused and he would get mad whenever she went because she was "wasting gas". On top of it, he didn't even want to watch his own son while she went. Counseling made her stronger and it made her stand up for herself. He didn't like that at all. She left him last Sunday and started getting things together for a protective order. Thursday, she finally got the order and he got kicked out of the house. He kept leaving her messages saying he was sorry and he'll go to counseling, but in the background he was changing the pin number to their bank account and even took her name off the account completely! I am so proud of how strong she has been through this whole thing. She has a hearing set for September 5th with the judge to talk about the protective order to see if he will make the order stick longer. I'm hoping the judge keeps it. He should not be allowed to see her or his son. I'm just crossing my fingers and praying that she stays strong through all of this. It's going to be a bumpy road, but she is so strong that I have faith she can get through it. To this friend: If you are reading this, I love you so much and I am so proud of you! Stay strong and things will work out the way they need to. :)
Fifth: Abuse: Another one of my best friends is also in an abusive relationship... A few weeks ago they got in a fight and he cut up her credit cards and took the SIM card out of her phone. He called her parents and told them that she had made out with some guy and ran off with him. That was not true... He left her stranded after she went in to use the bathroom while they were on vacation. She was lucky that she had some cash with her so she could take the bus back to their hotel. On top of it all, last week, she found out she was pregnant. When she told her husband, he blamed her and told her she did it on purpose. Things are better with them now however. They are going to counseling and I have faith that they can work things out. He is now getting really excited about this new baby. Things are going in the right direction for them. I am glad they are working on their marriage. They really are a cute couple and I believe they are soul mates.
That's been my life in a nutshell the past month or so. I've been stressing out about it all! I need some doTerra oils to help calm me! Hee hee! If anyone would like to know more about these oils, let me know. My sister sells it and she can hook you up! :)

My Little Evan
I can't believe Evan will be a year old in about a month!!! Time has gone by so fast. Here are just some things about Evan;
- He has 4 teeth. Two on top and two on bottom.
- He LOVES to yell. His favorite place to yell is when he's sitting/standing on his brother's chair.
- He is pulling himself up against furniture.
- He loves to put anything and everything in his mouth!
- He loves to watch his brother. Logan makes him laugh all the time!
- He is the smiliest kid you will ever meet! All you have to do is say "hi" to him and he gives you a big toothy grin!
- He loves chasing (crawling) after the cat and has scratches to prove it!

Fun and not so fun weekend....
Friday, Logan, Evan and I met my sister and my nephew at the zoo. We had lots of fun together! Logan had a blast with his cousin. He loves to see all the animals. He's been asking if we can go to the zoo since then. Hee hee! I love having a zoo membership. I can just pick up and go whenever I want! :)
Saturday, I was sick. I had a fever and was in bed all day! Sunday was a lot better, but for some reason, today it's coming back with a vengeance! Adam took such good care of me and the boys this weekend. I hope I'm going to be better by Wednesday! I'm going with Adam's little sister to see Big Time Rush's concert at USANA. I'm excited!!! :) This will be my second EVER concert. My first was a year ago tomorrow with Katy Perry. I'm so excited!!! Nothing else eventful went on this weekend. We don't really have any plans for the 24th, so I don't know what this week will bring. I may just be in bed relaxing all week long. (Or at least today and tomorrow).
