New Car!!!!

Yesterday I got a new car! It's a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander. I love it!!!! It drives so well in the snow and I wasn't scared at all to drive it all day yesterday!! Now we just have to figure out what we're doing with our Elantra! We're more than likely going to sell it. So we'll see how that goes! Anyone need a new car?! My next goal is to get rid of Adam's mustang! But that'll have to wait for a little bit.

Body Pillow

For Christmas my sister got me a body pillow. I LOVE IT!!!! Okay, usually when I sleep, my hips just kill me all night and I have to keep changing positions to get comfortable. And with an expanding belly, it's just not the easiest thing in the world to do!! Well, last night I slept with my body pillow in between my legs and I cuddled with it. I only woke up when Logan was moving around! I slept so much better than I have in a while!! It helped my hips so much, it was unbelievable! Adam is pretty jealous of my pillow too! He loves body pillows!

Why would anyone dream of a white Christmas?

Our Christmas was... interesting to say the least! We had fun with our families, but getting to and from our families was quite an adventure. Around 12 o'clock we headed out to Adam's parents house to celebrate with them. The whole time I was driving I was just getting an awful feeling. I started getting hysterical and bawling the whole time I'm driving. We got to the road that goes to their house and it was blocked off with barricades. So we decided to turn around and head home. Well, while we were turning around we got stuck and some really nice people came to help us get unstuck. So we got going again, and got stuck again. So the same people helped us again. We got home and by this time I'm crying so hard that the dog came to comfort me. He was such a sweety! It stopped snowing and Adam's family came down to our house for a couple of hours and we opened presents and had a good time. Then by 5 o'clock we headed over to my sister, Amy's house for my family party. The roads were clear at this point and the snow had stopped for quite a while. So we thought we were safe for the night. We had dinner at my sister's house and opened presents there. Then when it was time to leave we made it about 20 feet when we got stuck. We sat on 6200 south heading west for about 45 minutes before we had my brother-in-law, Greg, and brother, Danny, come get us and take us back. They drove my car in reverse back to the house and parked it out front. While they were driving it back, the radio was flickering on and off and just going weird. My sister offered for us to stay the night so we did. We tried to move my car into their driveway so they snow plows could come through, but the car wouldn't start! So it was just left there all night. In the morning Greg and Adam jump started the car and moved it to the driveway. While moving it to the driveway it got stuck so they had to tow it back out. Once it was unstuck, Adam drove it to the side of the house where the snow plows had been. After they moved the car, a plow had hit a truck while plowing their street. My sister made us breakfast (yummy banana pancakes) and we headed home. We slid a couple times going home, but we made it back okay. All of this trouble with my car getting stuck in the snow made me say, "Okay, that's it, we're getting new cars that can drive in the snow." So we're looking to replace my car and get Adam's car replaced sometime after. I've already found a car I like and it's not too expensive. So we'll see how that goes. Christmas this year was definitely an adventure! I hope to not have to do that again!!!

Heartburn

For any of you who have seen the movie Juno, I can now relate to one of the lines in that movie. "I have heartburn radiating from my knee caps." Hee hee! I've never had heartburn this bad in my life! I rarely even got it before I was pregnant and even then it wasn't bad enough to take anything for. A couple nights this month I've been up past midnight because it was so bad I couldn't even lay down and my tums weren't working! That happened last night. I think I finally drifted off around 1:00. So this is just a great new adventure for me in this pregnancy and I wouldn't change a single experience! I'm loving being pregnant and it'll be a sad but wonderful day when he is born!

Side shot

So I realized I don't have a single picture of me being pregnant. So I decided to post a side shot of me on our blog. Now that I see a picture of me I didn't know I was sticking out that much! Goodness! Adam decided that instead of calling me "fat" he'll just call me "jolly". So we joke around about that all the time! Hee hee! I have such a silly husband!
This weekend we went to Mervyn's at Valley Fair Mall because they're going out of business and everything was 50% off. We got $120 worth of baby clothes for $62. I just can't stop looking at the clothes. They're just too cute!! I'm just getting more and more excited for him to get here! I'm scared stiff about the labor part but it'll be worth it in the end.
Also this weekend I decided to dye my hair. So now it's a darker brown with red in it. You can't really tell from this picture though. I just had a lot of fun this weekend. Thursday was a little stressful trying to get my house clean and get all the food ready for Adam's family to come over for Thanksgiving. Thankfully my sister-in-law helped me a lot!!! She even washed my pots and pans for me! It was very nice of her and I was very thankful for her help. Dinner went smoother than I thought it would and even though I was so dang tired after dinner was done, I had a good time.
Today we went to Adam's good friends home coming. James is home!!!!! YAY!!!! His talk was so cool! Just hearing all of his stories was awesome! I was glad to see he was the same old James as before! It felt like he had never left. I missed him more than I thought I would and I was so excited to see him today!
Tomorrow is my brother Steven's birthday. We're going to Olive Garden to celebrate. I'm so proud of myself! I didn't get him a gift certificate like I always do. I got him a PS3 game called Folklore. Adam has that game and I thought it would be a game he would like too! I just hope he likes it.

VICTORY IS MINE!!!

So I convince Adam to let me put the Christmas tree up today!!! He's so strict about putting it up after Thanksgiving. I couldn't believe my luck when he said we could put it up!!! I'm so excited! Now the real test is whether or not the cat will leave it alone... I can only hope... I'm pretty excited for the holidays to start! We went Christmas shopping this weekend and we have all our presents except for presents for each other and our parents. We're still working on that and I'm still trying to figure out what the heck I want.

We were at Target on Thursday night and we got two onsies for Logan. They were so cute I couldn't pass them up! One says "50% Mother + 50% Father = 100% BRILLIANT" and the other says "HANDSOME Good looks run in the family" It just excited me more to have him here soon! It's just so weird to me that I'm going to be a mom! I always knew that's what I wanted soon after marriage, but it just feels so weird that it's almost here. I'm going to have to take care of a life!!! AHHH!!! What an adventure it will be!

Due date

So my due date has changed from March 25th to March 31st. He was measuring smaller in the ultrasound so they recalculated. That's okay though! He'll probably be born in April and I'm okay with that! April is a good month.

New nephew!!!!!

Yay!!! We just got a new nephew yesterday. His name is Cason. He is so stinkin' cute!!! He was 8 lbs 3 oz, and 21 inches long. We went to the hospital last night to see him. Courtney had been pushing for 2 hours but he didn't want to budge so they had to get the forceps out. Poor Courtney! She was tired after all that pushing.

It's a BOY!!!!!

These pictures are kind of hard to see, but I'll try and give you a hint as to what they are. The first one is of his head. The round part to the left is his head and the two round things next to each other are his eyes. The second picture is of his arms. They're crossed over each other. It's to the right of the black spot.

The third picture is of his leg. There's a small black sliver towards the middle and right below that you can see a white line almost horizontal. That's his calf bone and if you follow that you'll see the thigh bone. The fourth picture is of his foot. There's the white arrow next to it.

This picture is of his little boy part! I don't know how to describe where it's at if you don't know what you're looking at. There's two small white grape looking circles right next to each other. That's the end of his manhood. Hee hee!

Car Accident

Last wednesday, the 22nd, I got into a car accident. It wasn't very bad as you can see by my car. The damage was easy to fix and it wasn't even very much. I was on my way to work at 6:30 in the morning and I was turning left at 5600 W and 3100 S. This intersection in the morning is aweful. The only way you can turn left is to wait for the light to turn yellow. I was sitting there and the light turned yellow, so I waited for the intersection to clear. The light then turned red and the cars coming in the opposite direction started slowing down so I went. Well, when I was halfway through, some idiot didn't stop for the light and he just kept going and hit me. The stupid thing is they weren't going very fast so it was like playing bumper cars. We pulled over the the side of the road and I called 911 to report it. While we were waiting for the police to come the people who hit me (a 19 year old boy and I think his mother) were looking at my car saying "we'll fix it, we'll fix it" (they were hispanic and didn't know a whole lot of english). So that tells me right there that they were trying to get out of a ticket and they knew it was their fault. They wanted to get my phone number and leave but I told them we had to stay and wait for the police to come.
So the police came and got each side of the story. The other people kept saying that the light was "orange". The officer said to them, "There are no orange lights. There's red, yellow and green." The kid just sait, "No, it was orange." I had to fight back my laughter on that one! So we wrote down our statements on a form they gave us. When we were both done, we got the copy of each others reports. On their report they wrote that the mom was driving not the kid. I remember when they hit me I looked at the driver to see what idiot ran the red light and hit me and it was the boy! I told the police that and he said there was nothing he could do because there were no witnesses but he would talk to them about it. So I got a ticket for failure to yeild left turn and they got a ticket for not having a valid license. They had a Mexico license. (don't ask me how they got insurance with a mexico license because I haven't a clue)

The following Friday I called the insurance company to see if there insurance had called, which they had. So my insurance company got my side of the story. They were asking me things like, were you wearing your seat belt, and things like that. Well, she asked me if I was talking on my cell phone and I told her no. She told me the other driver said I was talking on my cell phone. I got mad when she told me this. Who would I be talking to at 6:30 in the morning? Everyone I know is asleep! So I offered to call my phone company and get a record of the calls for that day and she said it wasn't necessary. She said they believe their customers over anyone. So that was a relief! I also went into the doctors just to make sure that the baby was okay and everything was fine. They said it sounds like a happy little camper in there! So that was my latest adventure. The next adventure is tomorrow on Halloween when we find out what the baby is!!! YAY!!!

Halloween

So we get to find out what we're having on Halloween. So it'll be a really really good Halloween this year! At my doctors appointment my doctor told us that she will no longer be practicing obstetrics at the beginning of the year. So I have to switch doctors. So now instead of Dr. Morgan I get to go to Dr. Lamb. We got to meet him and he seems really nice. He's pretty funny too. I was really sad I didn't get to see Dr. Morgan anymore. And on top of that I might have a bladder infection. They were going to have me give a urine sample so they could test for it, but we all forgot and I left before we could even stop to think about it. So I was just going to go get it done when I go to the thyroid doctor this Friday. But I think I might want to go in sooner. It was really hurting me this morning. I'll call the doctors office and see what they think. So that's all the news I have for now.

Baby News

Last night for the first time, I felt the baby move! It was soooo cool!!!! It felt like a bubble moving inside me. It was the coolest feeling in the world!!! I can't wait to feel more. Tomorrow I have another doctor appointment. We're hoping we get an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby, but we're not keeping our hopes up very high. We'll probably just get to schedule an appointment to find out. So we'll have to see. I'll post again tomorrow after the appointment telling how my appoitment went. So we'll find out tomorrow!

Shadow

Yesterday we took our dog Shadow to the vet. He has been limping on his back right leg since Monday. The vet said it was his hips. He has bad hip problems and he said it's like his bones are grinding together. So I had to leave him at the vets to get an x-ray of his hips. They had to put him under anesthesia so they could get him to hold still for it. It was so hard to just leave him there! I felt so bad! When I picked him up he wasn't his usual self and that made me really upset. I cried off and on the rest of the night. He was whimpering because he was in pain. The vet gave me some medicine to give to Shadow every day to help with the pain. Shadow is about 135 lbs. and they said he needed to lose about 40 lbs to get to a weight they like to see on him. So he has a prescription dog food to help him lose weight. Once he's down to the weight they'd like to see him at they'll switch him to another prescription dog food that helps with joints and bones in
his body. They said he'll be on prescription dog food for the rest of his life unless we get surgery on his hips to scrape some of the bone off so he's not in pain. I don't think I could handle dropping him off for surgery. It broke my heart having him home after the anesthesia! Maybe one day we'll get him that surgery, but right now it's going to have to wait. Poor Shadow!!!!

A Third of the Way There

YAY!!!!!!! I have officially started the second trimester of my pregnancy! This is week 14 and we're going good! We have another doctor appointment on October 10th and at that appointment she's going to give us the order for the ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby. So we'll have to schedule that appointment with the people who do the ultrasounds. So we'll find out what it is pretty soon! We're getting really excited!

San Diego

Last week was the trip to San Diego. I ended up not going because I didn't have enough time to take off of work. So Adam, Camille and Danny went without me. They had a blast!! On Monday they went to the San Diego Zoo for about half a day. Tuesday they went to Sea World and they just loved it! It was the highlight of the trip. They loved it so much they went back to Sea World on Wednesday for another half day. They swam in the hotel's pool every day and they all got sun burned. Thursday they hung out at the hotel until it was time to go back to the airport to come back home.

Doctors Appointment

So I had my monthly doctors appointment today. We got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was so cool and I got so excited about hearing it that I giggled a little and we lost it and couldn't find it again. But that's okay, what we did hear was so cool! The next appointment next month we'll get a referral to the people who do the ultrasounds and we'll get to find out the sex of the baby! That'll be so cool! If it's a girl we have the name Hannah Lily picked out. If it's a boy it'll be Logan James. (Ashley, our kids can have the same middle name, I hope that's okay with you. Adam's pretty set on that name!) I'll keep everyone updated as the months go by!

Our Big News

We found out in July that we are expecting our first baby! I am due March 23rd and right now I'm about 11 weeks along. These ultrasounds were taken at the 7th week. I have another doctors appointment on Sept. 10th and I'm hoping they'll do another ultrasound! I loved seeing that little "blob" on the monitor. And to see the heartbeat was just amazing! So far I haven't really been sick. I can pretty much eat anything, but after I'm done my stomach will feel a little queasy after. I'm am enjoying pregnancy so far, even though I am very tired all the time. I can't wait until I can feel it moving around.
